Allen presents tenth and final Fore Bill check
New golf outing organized
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – Each year, for the past ten years, the Fore Bill golf outing has been held to sponsor scholarships at the Marshfield Area Community Foundation
Pat Allen founded the golf outing in 2008 as a memorial to her husband, Bill Allen, who died in 2007 after losing a battle with cancer.
Bill served on the Main Street Marshfield Board of Directors, as a chamber ambassador, on Marshfield’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, with Faith Lutheran Church and choir, as well as the Central Wisconsin State Fair Association.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge 665, where he served as the Exalted Ruler in 1973, and the Marshfield Eagles Club. He was a charter member of the United Way Marsh Society.
The scholarships funds from the event were awarded to Marshfield High School and Columbus Catholic students, with interest in pursuing an education in health care or business and are active community volunteers with a love of music. Over $216,000 in scholarship funds has been raised through this outing.
As this is the last year for the Fore Bill outing, a new golf outing has been organized to benefit families affected by Alzheimer’s disease; the ForeRoger golf benefit will be held Sept. 5. For more information, contact MACFI or Marshfield Insurance, or visit the Fore Roger Golf Benefit Facebook page.
